Terms of Service

Effective date: 19 August 2026

These terms apply to this website, to booking an appointment with St Albert Physio & Lymphatic Centre, and to the text messages and emails we send you. By using this site or booking with us, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. This website is information, not clinical advice

Everything on this site is general information about the services we provide. It is not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan, and not a substitute for being assessed by a clinician. Do not delay seeking care, or disregard advice you have already been given, because of something you read here.

If you are having a medical emergency, call 911. For urgent non-emergency health advice in Alberta, call Health Link at 811.

2. Booking an appointment

Booking through this site or our online booking system is a request for an appointment at a specific time. Your appointment is confirmed when you receive our confirmation. We may need to move or reschedule an appointment occasionally, and if that happens we will contact you as early as we can.

Please arrive a few minutes early for a first visit so we have time to complete your intake properly.

3. Cancellations and missed appointments

We ask for reasonable notice if you need to cancel or reschedule, so the time can be offered to another patient. A fee may apply for late cancellations and missed appointments, and this fee is not covered by insurance, WCB or an automobile insurer. Our current notice period and fee are confirmed at the time of booking and on request.

4. Fees, payment and direct billing

Fees are payable at the time of service unless we have agreed otherwise, or unless your treatment is being billed directly to a third party.

  • Private insurance. Where your plan allows it and you provide the necessary details, we will bill your insurer directly. Direct billing is a convenience, not a guarantee of coverage. Your policy governs what is covered, and any amount your insurer does not pay remains payable by you.
  • Motor vehicle accident claims. Treatment following a collision is generally handled through your automobile insurer’s accident benefits, subject to Alberta’s protocols and the insurer’s approval.
  • WCB Alberta. Where a workplace claim is accepted, treatment is billed to WCB Alberta. If a claim is denied or closed, the account becomes payable by you.

It is your responsibility to know the terms of your own coverage, including any annual maximum, per-visit cap or referral requirement.

5. Text messaging

If you give us your mobile number and agree, we may send you appointment reminders, confirmations and other service messages. If you separately opt in, we may also send promotional messages.

  • Message frequency varies depending on your appointments and the programme you opted into.
  • Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan and carrier.
  • Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving further texts. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us using the details below.
  • Consent to receive promotional text messages is not a condition of purchasing any good or service from us.
  • We do not share your mobile number or your SMS consent with any third party or affiliate for their own marketing purposes.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How we handle the information behind these messages is set out in our Privacy Policy.

6. Your responsibilities as a patient

Give us accurate and complete health information, including medications, past injuries, surgeries and any diagnosis you already have. Tell us if something changes, and tell us promptly if a treatment causes an unexpected reaction. We can only treat safely on the basis of what we know.

You may decline or stop any treatment at any time.

7. Third-party services

Our online booking runs on a third-party platform, and this site may link to other external services. We do not control those services, and their own terms and privacy policies apply once you are using them. We are not responsible for their content or availability.

8. Our content

The text, images, layout and design on this site belong to us or are used with permission. You may read, print and share pages for your own personal use. Please do not republish, resell or reuse our content commercially without our written permission.

9. Accuracy and availability

We keep this site as accurate and current as we reasonably can, but we do not warrant that everything is complete, current or error free. Fees, hours, services and staff can change. We may update or withdraw any part of the site at any time, and we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or your reliance on its general information. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability relating to the professional care we provide, which is governed by the standards of the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta and by applicable law.

11. Concerns and complaints

If you are unhappy with any part of your care or your experience here, tell us first. Most issues are resolved quickly once we know about them. You also have the right to raise a concern with the relevant regulatory college, and privacy concerns may be raised with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the Alberta courts.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page with its effective date, and continuing to use the site means you accept the version in force.
